Three Buns Burger and Heads

This place is probably the biggest hit in April. The new anticipated place has now opened since this mid-April. *drum rolls* Here it is, Three Buns Burger and Heads! Located in the hippest and urban area in Jakarta, yes it's Senopati. With Three Buns addition, it gives you more mouthwatering choices from the neighborhood.
Three Buns comes with a concept of redefining the burger joint. Adam Penney, the head chef, said that he always thinks to have a real love for burgers and would love to have a big, juicy and tasty burger. A naughty burger is a juicy, tasty and you need TEN napkins, he said. When eating it, everybody is just speechless and enjoying the food. That's his philosophy behind Three Buns (Yeah, I second to that!).

When I first came in, the first impression was a semi-outdoor space. It's quite spacious and the sunlight naturally shines through the roof to brighten the space. Wooden blocks as the tables and chairs to dine is also nice. The van out there is where you order the food (and cash out some money of course!). Also, not to forget the bar to enjoy drinks and to pick up the meals.

Then, it was time to order the food. Three Buns has 6 different type of burgers that will make you drool. The 'Kicks' - Three Buns side dishes are also very tempting and surely not to be missed when you visit this place. The drinks also come in various types, such as cocktails, wine, homemade soda and many more.
For the burgers, you have to spend around IDR 95k-125k and for the Kicks cost you around IDR 35k-55k. Some may think it's overpriced but me myself think it's a good deal!

Baby Huey (IDR 95k)
Prime 150g beef patty, cheese, lettuce, ketchup, pickles & spiced mayo
The original sometimes is the best. Baby Huey is perfect for you who want to enjoy classic burger but I warn you, it's very addictive HAHA! I like everything from Baby Huey, from buns to buns. The patty is juicy and tasty, the cheese melts and blends with the spiced mayo. A very decent one, nice!

Four Floors (IDR 125k)
Double prime 100g beef patties, double cheese, triple onions, lettuce, pickles, ketchup & den miso mayo
Good Lord! Everything is doubled (even tripled for onions)! Four Floors is DA BOOM! This is a real naughty burger. Double patties are amazingly juicy, double cheese are incredibly yummy and although the onion taste is quite strong but still it is HEAVEN! What can I say more? I was so full!
For you who love something big, it's the perfect choice, whoa! This is heavyweight class =))

Three Buns Four Floors

Naughty Fries (IDR 45k)
Spiced bearnaise, beef chilli, crisp shallots, Parmesan & sesame seeds
You cannot miss this because it is more than just an ordinary fries (of course)! This is simply irresistible and gonna tease you, pretty much like the name, eh? Beef chilli and crisp shallots cover the fries atop and the special spiced bearnaise gives an unforgettable flavor. I just couldn't stop eating this.
Naughty fries is a perfect company for the burgers just like an usual meal combo.

Homemade soda with secret ingredients. The taste is pretty unique there with a refreshing scent. A good drink after you are done with burgers.

And yeah, I would surely love to visit Three Buns again. They've got the kick! In less than a month, Three Buns has grown becoming a favorite in the neighborhood.
This burger joint will be absolutely popular in a few months (actually they already are!).

KyoChon Indonesia

Korean foods and restaurants have 'invaded' Indonesia. Yes, there are like everywhere now! As this trend goes by, newcomers are starting to emerge and ready to hit the market. One of the newcomers that I found is KyoChon. KyoChon is a chicken brand that has expanded globally to USA, China, Thailand and now Indonesia. KyoChon has three outlets in Indonesia, they are located at Pacific Place, Gandaria City and Kota Kasablanka.
After joining the early Good Friday service at JPCC, The Kasablanka, I started to roam around Kota Kasablanka searching for a good place to have a brunch. Then I remembered want to try this restaurant, so I directly visited it. The outlet at Kota Kasablanka has a wooden interior ah, love it! I took a table at the foyer and the sunlight showered down to the foyer through a glass roof. Just a perfect timing :)

I picked Combo 1 and Combo 2 this time for the meals.
Combo 1 - 2 Wings + 1 Drumstick + Green Salad + Rice + Drink (IDR 50k)

Combo 1

Combo 2 - 2 Wings + 2 SalSal Strips + Green Salad + Rice + Drink (IDR 50k)

Combo 2

The meals look nice, don't they? Yes, they actually really nice! I'll start with the salad. The Green Salad was pretty fresh with purple cabbage on top and the lemon sauce dressing gave a light sour taste to the salad. I like the Green Salad, it was a good mix between the greens and the sauce, also it gave balance to the meal. For both combo, I could also choose the original or red sauce for the chicken. I tried red for the first combo and original for the second one. The red sauce is simply hot! You can feel the spiciness within the first bite. For the original sauce, the classic garlicky and salty taste will make your tongue dance!
The SalSal strips are great too. The skin has a curly and crispy texture and the taste is heavenly!
The meal won't be complete without the honey sauce, it's lovely.

KyoChon has 3 promises offered to the customers, they are called 'KyoChon 3G Promises'.

I won't talk about the first one, but the second one is an absolute yes for me! And they did the third haha.
For girls, KyoChon does not only treat you with good foods, but also with lots of Korean boys picture :p

Enjoy this delicious Korean chicken restaurant!

Koultoura Coffee

Just got back from Malaysia last night and finally I can write this post. A day before flying to Malaysia, I visited one coffee shop located in Taman Ratu, West Jakarta. Yep, It's Koultoura Coffee. Koultoura has emerged as one of my favorite coffee shop in town. We'll see why later :)

The iconic cup and lightning logo
The interior of the shop is pretty simple yet it's very cozy inside! Splendid!

Cement floor, brick walls, wooden tables and full of glasses to let the sunlight comes through as natural lighting are just perfect. The walls also decorated with creative paintings of the characters.

Now, let's go to the main business. While most coffee shops only offer coffee drinks, Koultoura gives you more than just coffee. They have a string of mouthwatering foods. Breakfast, brunch and dinner menus, they have them all.

Cappuccino
Not just hot beverages, they also serve cold beverages to add more choices.

Pink Lemonade

For this visit, I tried Croque Madame and Burger ala Papa Bear. They're just awesome!

Croque Madame
Burger ala Papa Bear
The highlight from Koultoura's Croque Madame is its Bechamel sauce. The white sauce has a very smooth texture and adequately creamy. Plus, it's freshly baked from the oven and the toasts, ham and egg are so yummy!
And now for my favorite Burger ala Papa Bear! This stack of burger compositions is perfect. Butter fried buns, grilled beef patty, a slice of cheese, poached egg, tomato slices, lettuce and sauteed onion have successfully made me drool :p
Both Croque Madame and Burger ala Papa Bear are served with homemade potato fries which is another plus point. The potato fries are addictive. Ha!

Go get your coffee and have a brunch there! It will make your day :D

Chick-A-Pow! : Trailer Food

Hello everyone. This is my brand new blog named 'The Foodglasses'. I decided to create this blog to share my moments and journey in culinary world. I love enjoying foods, I really want to explore more and oh, eating makes you happy! The Foodglasses blog is personally written by me. Hope you enjoy this blog and bon appétit!

Recently, I visited a trailer food restaurant near Rawa Belong, West Jakarta. This restaurant has a catchy name, Chick-A-Pow!. Chick-A-Pow! gives you an outdoor environment in a two-storey building. Also, indie-themed decorations all over the restaurant make a different atmosphere in this restaurant.

"We all like chicken" - Malcolm X

Chicken wings and tenders are Chick-A-Pow!'s specialties. You can order just either of them or you can go for a combo (wings and tenders mix), then add sauce to your wings/tenders and complete it with dressing all of your own choice.

2 wings + 1 tender combo with Tandoori sauce and thousand island dressing

Tenders with Buttered Jerk sauce

With lots of option for the sauce, it's hard to pick which one is the best. But this time, I choose to pick Tandoori and Buttered Jerk as the sauces. The Tandoori is a bit spicy and the spices make the taste bold and blends perfectly with the wings. Buttered Jerk, a mix of butter, rosemary and ginger, creates a dry coating on the tenders.

Deep Fried Oreo with vanilla ice cream

Don't forget the dessert! The favorite Deep Fried Oreo is a must-try. You can choose cookie or soft cake or both to be deep-fried. The combination of crunchy skin, soft and warm texture inside and sweet and cold ice cream makes a unique feeling.
