Woodpecker Coffee Panglima Polim

Foodglasses Woodpecker Coffee

I believe you need to be unique and have some characters if you want to be 'popular', especially when we are talking about coffee shop in Jakarta. Woodpecker Coffee is relatively new in Jakarta coffee scene. This coffee shop joins an array of coffee shops that already exist in Jakarta trying to satisfy all coffee lovers out there.

Woodpecker Coffee is a project created by Atelier Kreasi. Located in Panglima Polim, Woodpecker Coffee seems to have its character from its simplicity. The minimal and clean concept brings a truly homey atmosphere and ambience to the shop here. I really love how the natural light glides through the window. This is perfect if you want to post a picture to Instagram, since natural light really helps a lot to produce a clean result. You even do not need to edit your photo sometimes, just like what I did to some of the pictures here.

Speaking of minimal concept, Woodpecker Coffee really does have a minimal space. Nevertheless, with that limited space, this coffee shop successfully brings such comfort and relaxed mood (at least for me). The combination between wooden furniture and cement block table and floor depicts the tone of this coffee shop. The 'Woodpecker' neon sign is clearly eye-catching with that red glowing light.

It looks so homey, right?

Woodpecker doesn't provide much variety of foods, don't expect for a big breakfast or lunch here. But Woodpecker has a good pastries and other side menu that can accompany your coffee and your day!

Picollo Latte (IDR 25k)
So I tried Woodpecker's Picollo latte. You will always find your coffee served on a small tray with a bottle of mineral water. And unexpectedly I got this cute and adorable latte art (lucky me, yes?).
The Picollo was bold at the first sip and continuously kept oozing a relaxing feel. This cup is surely for you who needs a light dose of coffee.
A bottle of mineral water is complimentary to the coffee you have.

Original Waffle w/ Banana Nutella (IDR 20k + IDR 8k + IDR 15k)
Woodpecker's homemade waffle is the one not to be missed when you visit this place. This signature menu has two flavor options for the waffle, original dan Oreo. There are also a string of toppings that you can add onto the waffle, the price of each topping ranges from IDR 8k to IDR 15k. This time, I chose banana and Nutella as the toppings for my original waffle.

Beautiful!

The homemade waffle came with a spongy texture and fresh after being baked. I like the original one better than Oreo one, the original one was plain sweet, milky and matched with most of the toppings.
The Oreo waffle indeed sweeter than the original one, but it's too sweet if it's added with another sweet topping, such as Nutella.
I definitely in love with these banana and Nutella toppings. The banana topping was sweet and cut into a small pieces, also it was fresh as well. The Nutella topping - most people's favorite - was simply indulging and had a gooey texture. YUM!
Lastly, the wooden tray adds a simple and classy feel to the waffle.

I personally enjoyed my time here at Woodpecker Coffee, a good sip of coffee, a good bite of waffle, a simple relaxed ambiance. The "instagenic" character is surely another attraction.
Maybe it's not the place if you come in big group, but it's surely good for a quality personal chat. Make sure you don't miss this coffee shop in Southern Jakarta!
