Roba Yakitori - Taman Anggrek

Foodglasses Roba Yakitori

Pancious group now comes with a new concept of restaurant. After being well known with its pancakes, Pancious is trying to expand to a another field of food industry and here it is, Roba Yakitori, the group's new yakitori-specialized restaurant.

Right beside Pancious, the new Roba Yakitori restaurant stands in the third level of Taman Anggrek. The restaurant was in a standard size of one restaurant in the mall with wooden interior covers the majority of it. The atmospheres that were brought here were warm and calm. The lamps were very traditional of Japanese style. There were also many jars being lined up above the wall from some authentic decoration. At the back, the wall consisted of hexagonal shapes with some mural art.

The customers have to enter to queuing line to order, beside the queuing line some of fresh and uncooked yakitori were displayed. The waiter will directly pick the customers' choice and pass them to be grilled. Then you can pick drinks and others, before finally you purchase them all.

The food here is decent enough in terms of choices. They have quite a lof of yakitori choices, they also serve katsu and for set meal, they have bento. Side dishes include salad, inari and sashimi.
For the bento, each includes rice, tamago and sauteed enoki mushroom.

Yakitori Bento 3B (IDR 68k)
Chicken Leg Miso, Chicken Ball Teriyaki, Chicken Breast Teriyaki
This bento consisted of 3 pieces of yakitori. The presentation was quite simple, the rice was based with banana leaf and drizzled with some shoyu sauce at the top. The tamago was shaped like a block and placed in between the yakitori and enoki mushroom.
I like the tamago, it was very soft and delicate and taste was pretty mild yet I could felt the juiciness came out with I bit it. Sauteed enoki was also great! The saltiness was perfect but a bit too much of onion there.

The first yakitori from this bento is Chicken Leg Miso. This yakitori was actually pretty nice, love the tender chicken leg meat coated with miso sauce. The miso sauce was a bit mild at first but then it kept coming to tickle my tongue as I continue to eat it. Delicious one! The meats were separated with leek cuts to give some variation.
Next is Chicken Ball Teriyaki. this was grilled well and had a good soft texture, but the teriyaki sauce was a bit failing me. It didn't come out too much. I was expecting a good tasty flavor from these in general.
The last one is the Chicken Breast Teriyaki. Again, despite the good texture, the flavor made it nothing too special.

Katsu Bento A (IDR 62k)
Chicken Breast Katsu, Chicken Leg Katsu
Going to the second bento. The this Katsu Bento in general appearance was the same with the Yakitori Bento one. Both katsu yakitori were in decent size. The Chicken Breast Katsu was tender and crunchy on the skin. Meanwhile, the Chicken Leg Katsu was a little a bit softer, but also crunchy. Both were fried well and drizzled with shoyu sauce. Sadly, they weren't as tasty as I expected. They were actually tasted good but, they lacked the 'x-factor' to be special.
All the bento here in Roba Yakitori have a good portion nonetheless.

Beef Asparagus Teriyaki (IDR 28k)
A good juicy asparagus wrapped in beef, grilled with teriyaki sauce. The asparagus was fresh and really juicy (YES!), the beef wasn't bad either. Love it when I took a bite of this yakitori, the juice oozed in my mouth. The beef wrap gave that salty taste that I looked for. Actually, this is a good yakitori from Roba Yakitori.

Salmon Wasabi Butter (IDR 32k)
This salmon was butter-grilled and given wasabi paste. The salmon meat was great and soft, and the most important thing it wasn't fishy. I like how the butter gave the taste to the salmon meat. The wasabi flavor was a bit too light, I couldn't even taste it clearly. Put just a little bit more and I believe this will have a great spicy indulging taste.

Matcha Ice Cream (IDR 16k)
Soft matcha ice cream which I got for free by giving a feedback comment. Thank you for this, Roba Yakitori! Soft in texture, but just a little bit too sweet.

Overall, the quality of the food and the service here were good. The taste still can be improved. Several items have prices beyond my expectation.
I can conclude, Roba Yakitori is a decent restaurant to eat and enjoy yakitori treats.
